Translating a survey

You can translate your survey on the Setup tab. Click Add translation and select the language you want to use.

Adding a new translation makes it possible for respondents to choose their preferred language before and during the answering of your survey.

A respondent can choose the language of the survey when the Show language selector dialog at start is turned on. 

You can add translation by clicking Add translation. Next, choose a language you want to translate the survey to.

A window will pop up. On the right-hand side, you will see the original texts. Modify the translated texts as you please by writing in the fields on the right-hand side.

You can also switch to text view by clicking this icon.

This feature is optional and changes the translation view. It will now look like this:

Return to the survey by clicking the text Finnish on the left upper corner.

You can make the translation as default by clicking the three dots next to the name of the translation.

You can return back to edit the translation by clicking the pen icon next to the name of the translation and by choosing Make default from the menu.

A new language version can be added by clicking Add translation. 

HINT! You can also export & import translations!

 

Click on the drop-down menu next to the Switch to table view button.

You now have the options to

  • Upload your own translation as an XLIFF file
  • Download the current one as XLIFF to your device for later use

HINT! If your survey is monolingual and you want the survey's buttons to be, for example, in Finnish, click Add translation, choose a wanted language. Return to the survey by clicking the text Finnish on the left upper corner.
